Arkansas was a relatively poor state in the 19th century. There were no thriving business centers, no big banks, no international conglomerates. And not many of the citizens could afford vacation trips abroad. So foreign correspondence from the state is relatively scarce compared to states in the East. The collection of covers illustrated here is certainly not complete, but it shows what I have manage to capture in nearly 50 years of collecting Arkansas cover images.
The page is arranged alphabetically by foreign destination and within that country, chronologically by date of cover from the earliest to the latest.
